Secretary Jen is in the Church Office from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Wednesday through Friday. Danny is off on Mondays. Mornings are the best time to find the staff at church, while afternoons are reserved for visiting or off campus meetings. We are always available for pastoral care. Please feel free to drop by or better yet call to make sure we are available. We'd love to see you!

Pastor Tom Ogilvie
Pastor Tom Ogilvie’s faith journey has been rooted in the Lutheran tradition from baptism through ordination. Raised in the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, he earned his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1995 and served congregations in South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. In 2023, he discerned a new direction, stepping away from the LCMS and becoming part of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City, which led him into the process of joining the ELCA. Since 2024, he has served as a Synod Authorized Minister, including time with Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Iowa, and in December 2025 he was approved for rostered ministry in the ELCA by the Southeastern Iowa Synod. Pastor Tom is the proud father of five children, ages 18 to 31, and in June 2024 he married his husband, Erik Cross, who serves as a hospital cosmetologist at University of Iowa Health Care. They now make their home in West Liberty. In his free time, Tom enjoys music, theatre, and going for a good run.
Jen Heinsius — Secretary
Jen Heinsius joined Faith Lutheran as the Church Secretary in October 2006. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois and moved to Iowa in 1995. Jen enjoys her position at Faith for the variety of work, the ability to help others and the fantastic people of the church. She is married to her husband, Russell and they live on a small hobby farm in Olin, Iowa and have 4 grown sons, Josh, Jake, Nate & Nick, and daughter-in-law, Anna and a granddaughter Quinn and two grandsons Luke & Ben. Jen is a member and serves on her church council at St. John Lutheran in Olin. Her favorite pastimes are time with the grandchildren, reading, football, concerts and working on the farm.
Danny Stone — Director of Youth & Family Ministries
Danny Stone was born in northern California and grew up in National Parks across the nation. He served at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp in Upper Michigan while studying at Northern Michigan University. After graduation, Danny taught English at Marquette Sr. High and began serving as the Director of Youth and Family Ministries for Messiah Lutheran. Danny was a member of the Kellogg Youth Development Seminar team, Fortune Lake Board, Episcopal Camp Board, Synod Youth Ministry Team, YARP Team, Campus Ministry house manager . . .
After 16 years at Messiah and 30 years in "da Yoopee," Danny and family moved to Cedar Rapids/Marion to serve at Faith in 2011. His daughter, Isabella, grew up at Faith and is now working at the Mix restaurant in Cedar Rapids. Danny and Kristen Hamilton-Stone were married in 2024. They live in the Bever Park neighborhood of Cedar Rapids with their dogs, Oliver and Amelia.
Danny is active with Synod adventures, chaired the SEIowa Synod Candidacy Committee and served two terms on the EWALU Board of Directors.
